It is the original Crete without hotel castles like in the north. The hotel has its own pebble beach. We had a renovated room that was very nice. In the evening there is a rather small buffet. There was a lot of typical Cretan food with legumes etc. We found it really good and tasty! The atmosphere in the hotel is familiar. A whole family works here and it shows. Everyone tries hard and is very friendly. With a rental car, which is best booked at the airport, you can explore the area, for example Pefki with its great tavern is worth it (you can also easily hike there through a gorge). If you are looking for a quiet, family-run hotel as a starting point for your own adventure on the beautiful southeast coast, this is the right place for you.

Small, very well-maintained, family-run hotel with direct access to the beach. We had booked a renovated room, and it was decorated with great care. You can rent a car directly from the hotel to explore the island.
We arrived at the hotel late in the evening, around 10:30 PM, and a small snack was waiting for us in the fridge. Even on our departure day, our transfer was scheduled for 4:00 PM, and upon request, it was no problem at all to keep our room until then.
Overall, a fantastic service!

Family-run hotel, perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. Wonderfully maintained property. Just a few steps to the sea. The water is fantastic. Pebble beach (with umbrellas and sunbeds for a fee) – water shoes are highly recommended. I have been coming here since 1993 and will always return.

Perfect hotel if you want to have a peaceful vacation. Location is in a small Village with only a few habitants, with few shops and restaurants. Hotel has its own entry to the sea also with the sunbeds. 2 nice and clean pools, pool bar and a big dining room. We had halfboard, breakfast and also dinner had a good selection of different tastes, but we recommend to also try the near restaurants. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We can only recommend 🙂

Great hotel in a quiet location with a beautiful beach. Super friendly staff and great service. We arrived at around 3:00 a.m. and had a sumptuous midnight snack in the fridge. The rooms are modern and newly renovated. Great place to enjoy the peace and sun.

Nice hotel with swimming pools and close to the beach. Clean and spacious rooms with comfortable double beds. Variety of food for breakfast (some extremely delicious) and a very good taverna close to the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely return here in the future.

Very good The Hotel South Coast is a small, relaxed and owner-managed hotel right by the sea in the south-east of Crete. The place itself is really nothing, but the hotel is a small oasis, very well-kept, clean and quiet. Ideal for a beach vacation and excursions within the quietest part of Crete!
